Based on the original analogy from Justin Foster, your brand is either oatmeal or it is bacon. What is your brand?

The problem with this analogy is that really oatmeal is a better long term choice for you. The creators of oatmeal are actually improving your health. Bacon can kill you.

Really bacon is the company that dresses themselves up to look so good, you end up buying a lot of it, consume it, and then end up needing heart surgery. Oatmeal on the other hand shouldn’t have to over market itself, or dress it up. It’s good for you. And if you want to be around long enough to watch your kids grow up you’ll eat it instead of bacon.

So the question really is: Does your company sell oatmeal or bacon to your customers?

Got something to say?
